The Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center and The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts present a FREE half-day symposium focused on the intersection of arts and health.
This professional development event for artists, teaching artists, arts administrators, arts educators and allied health professionals includes a moderated panel discussion featuring local arts and health practitioners and modality-based learning workshops. Roots & Rhythms Presented by Zest Collective and the Miami-Dade Arts Education Collective
In honor of Black History Month, Roots & Rhythms celebrates the voices of black musicians, blending biography, social history, music, and choreography to celebrate the beauty and innovations of the African diaspora. This presentation, presented by Zest Collective and the Miami-Dade Arts Education Collective, explores a century of creativity, innovation, and triumph to tell the stories of black artists and communities whose songs rang out despite America's dark history of oppression.

About the Miami-Dade Arts Education Collective -
Culture Shock Miami joined forces with the Adrienne Arsht Center’s Education and Community Engagement team, Miami Theater Center (MTC), and the Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center’s Education and Outreach Division to support Miami-Dade County schools, including Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ (MDCPS) Cultural Passport Program, pool resources and meet the arts education needs of school-aged children, grades K-12, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the Collective has reached more than 180,000 students.
360 ALLSTARS
A non-stop energy packed urban circus complete with dancing, beat boxing, acrobatics, BMX biking and more, 360 All Stars is a spectacular fusion of the extraordinary artistry that emerges from street culture. Boasting a stellar international cast of World Champion and World Record-holding athletes and artists, the show has had sold out runs on Broadway, Sydney Opera House and this past summer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Seen by over one million people worldwide 360 All Stars entertains audiences of all ages!

Miami-Dade County Public Schools Cultural Passport
All secondary grades throughout Miami-Dade County Public Schools are eligible for free Cultural Passport field experiences! Teachers of any discipline may apply for a Class Pass to provide their class with a cultural field experience. Class Passes include student and teacher admission fees and bus transportation at no cost to the school, teacher, or students. Get more information.

Use the Arts to Teach

Offer extra credit. Reward students who attend an event related to a class lesson or theme.

HistoryMiami Museum is committed to serving South Florida’s students, teachers and adult learners through exciting and innovative programs. Bringing over 10,000 years of South Florida history to life, HistoryMiami Museum has been welcoming visitors since 1984.
Our education programs are designed to provide age and grade-level appropriate experiences, while focusing on different learning modalities. Critical thinking is elicited as students compare and contrast the past and present and are encouraged to visualize and discuss what the future may be like, based on patterns of the past.
All programs are correlated to state educational standards. The programs also address curriculum areas beyond social studies, including language arts, mathematics and science (where applicable).

Guided tours of the Main House are available for school groups from 4th – 12th grades. Group tours are conducted by professionally trained Volunteer Guides and are available by appointment. Tours last approximately one hour.
Vizcaya has developed thematic tours for school audiences which support local, state and national curricular goals in Social Studies, Visual Arts and Language Arts. Lesson plans are available.
