The Ceramic League of Miami is pleased to announce our annual juried members’ exhibition. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 7 PM at Fundación Pablo Atchugarry Miami, 5520 NE 4th Avenue. Richard Notkin is this year’s juror. He also conferred prizes and honorable mentions.
The participating artists are Hannah Banciella, Barbara Bernstein, Debra Burch, Celine De Paz, Lexi Dreybus, Nan Ernst, Noah Farid, Zanze Fowler, Stacey Frisch, James Herring, Carin Ingalsbe, Lili Kamely, Sepideh Kalani, Giselle Kovac, Chris Labbe, Edith Landowne, Julia Levay, Marcia Manconi, Pamela Manresa, Gus Pages, Polo Ramirez, Marianne Russell, Linda Sands, Tammy Shapiro, Ryan Shedd, Diane Slezak, Donna Sperow, Maite Oca, Katherine Palacios, Fredric Witkin, Catherine Yang, and Sabine Zerarka.
Richard Notkin is a ceramic artist who works in Pierce County, Washington State. He received a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1970, and an MFA from the University of California, Davis in 1973. His series of Yixing inspired teapots and ceramic sculptures have been exhibited internationally and are in numerous public and private collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park, Japan. Notkin has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation and Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation.
The Ceramic League of Miami, founded in 1950, is a nonprofit ceramic arts organization dedicated to promoting education and appreciation of ceramic arts and fostering the artist that exists in everyone. CLM is a member-run organization, empowered by volunteer, collaborative, and materially focused culture. It is a welcoming community of ceramic artists who share their passion for clay. CLM maintains its own fully equipped facility, located in the southwest section of Miami, 8873 SW 129th Street.
