Marlene Urbay, the Florida Chamber Orchestra and the Miami-Dade County Auditorium celebrate the Christmas Spirit with this concert that performs traditional Latin American carols from different countries, ending with the famous Misa Criolla by Ariel Ramírez. He was considered “a chief exponent of Argentine folk music” and noted for his “iconic” musical compositions. Misa Criolla (or Creole Mass) is an epic work, a Spanish-language mass set to the traditional sounds and rhythms (chacarera, carnavalito, estilo pampeano) of South America. When the orchestra, choir, and soloists come together, the early songs of the Andes are deified, creating a captivating and harmonious experience.
