FUNDarte, Miami Light Project and The Rhythm Foundation in collaboration with Miami Dade County Auditorium present Global Cuba Fest 2020 closing night featuring Piano Marathon Cubano by Jorge Luis Pacheco, and Mambo #2020 "Mambo meets Timba", by Alain Perez and Julio Montalvo Orchestra in Concert, on March 14th at 8:00 p.m. at Miami Dade County Auditorium.
The event will be opened by one of Cuba’s top pianists perform a lively marathon concert. Pacheco is a passionate, extravagant, exciting entertainer on stage and constantly captures the audience’s attention with his heartfelt performances and electric energy.
Alain Perez and the great Julio Montalvo Orchestra invite you to join them for the closing night of Global Cuba Fest, at the world premiere of their concert, “Mambo #2020.” Mambo Meets Timba is a rhythmical journey through the different genres of danceable Cuban music, beginning with the classic Danzón, seasoned with Latin Jazz, and topped with a dollop of the newest sounds and rhythms from the island, all executed with mastery and virtuosity by more than 20 musicians united on stage at Miami Dade County Auditorium. This is a show that will delight dancers of every persuasion, where you’ll get to hear renditions of the most magical moments of a musical era, with sounds that are alive in the DNA of Cubans and in the musical legacy that this tropical island has gifted the entire world with.
