Join The Moss Center for a special collaborative theatrical performance.
The Way of Water: Miami is a project of the Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center and Forklift Danceworks, a community-based dance company that creates inclusive, one-of-a-kind performances that share stories, build understanding, and create community. Partners for The Way of Water: Miami include Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, Water and Sewer Department, Department of Transportation and Public Works, the Office of Resilience, and the Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources.
The Way of Water: Miami is a large-scale, outdoor performance featuring the movement and stories of Miami-Dade County employees who steward the county’s complex water system. From wastewater plant operators to distribution field crews, water quality testing technicians to canal maintenance teams, employees will show the skillful and often challenging work of keeping Miami’s water moving. The performance will also include Miami-Dade water experts—including scientists, artists and community members—who will illuminate the complex story of water in South Florida through song, video, and performance.
Please join us from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM for a community resource fair to connect with the many organizations all working with water in our city. Seating is limited on a first come, first served basis, standing room may be provided.
Experience The Way of Water: Miami on the following dates/times:
Friday, February 7, 2025 at 8:00 PM
Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 8:00 PM
The Way of Water: Miami was made possible by the New England Foundation for the Arts’ National Dance Project, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Foundation and the Mellon Foundation and funded in part by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and Miami-Dade County.
