BENJAMIN VERDERY Presented by MIGF 2020

The 2020 Miami International GuitART Festival presents virtuoso guitarist and composer Benjamin Verdery in a solo concert, performing his own compositions as well as works by Martin Bresnick, J.S. Bach, Manuel de Falla, and Alonso Mudarra. In one of his own compositions “From Aristotle”, Mr. Verdery will be joined by special guest Mark Martin performing mixed vocals. 19th CENTURY GUITAR ART MUSIC with MARCO BATTAGLIA Presented by MIGF 2020

The 2020 Miami International GuitART Festival presents 19th century music specialist and virtuoso guitarist Marco Batttaglia in a solo concert, performing a program of works in two themes: nature and the Opera. Featured works by Johann Kaspar Mertz, Mauro Giuliani, and Napoleon Coste are based on operas of Gaetano Donizetti, Gioachino Rossini, and Vincenzo Bellini. The 2020 Miami International GuitART Festival presents soprano Daniela D’Ingiullo and guitarist Federico Bonacossa in concert, performing a program of 20th and 21st-century music by composers from across the globe. The program opens with Renka I (an intimate rendition of 3 ancient Japanese poems) by Toshio Hosokava and ends with Heitor Villa-Lobos’ own transcription of his famous Aria from the Bachianas Brazileira No. 5.
