Enredos y traiciones (Entanglements and Betrayals) is a theatrical piece in verse adapted by director and playwright Eugenia Sancho from the famous comedy La traicion en la Amistad (The disenchantments of love) written by author Maria de Zayas during the Spain's Golden Age of literature.
This World Premier play is a comedy in which six women fight for free love with humor and intelligence. The piece preserves the essence of classical theater but is brought up to date by Ms. Sancho with a natural and close theatrical language.
María de Zayas was one of the most demanding writers of her time and one of the pioneers of modern literary feminism.
