The Laramie Project Presented by The Jerry Herman Ring Theatre

The Laramie Project is a documentary-style play that tells the story of how the residents of Laramie, Wyoming responded to the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a young gay man who was kidnapped, beaten, and left tied to a fence. The play is told through the words of the people of Laramie, including faith leaders, and is based on interviews conducted by members of the Tectonic Theater Project, who developed the play with Moises Kaufman. The play is part of the Lincoln Legacy Project, which aims to promote dialogue about equality, tolerance, and acceptance.
