With the title "Music from Both Sides of the Atlantic," the Belcorde Duo, formed by Manuel Briega (violin) and Adrián Fernández (guitar), presents a musical show full of rhythm and color. All the compositions selected for this concert program will be widely recognized due to the close historical and cultural ties that bind us on both sides of the Atlantic. Cultural union and similarities in the concept of melody and rhythm will make the audience quickly connect with the music and enjoy each musical piece. Violin and Spanish guitar unite in perfect symbiosis, making these instruments the perfect transmitters of this repertoire that reflects the essence of both territories.

Spain, My Love: Opera meets Ballet Presented by The Opera Atelier

The Opera Atelier joins forces with Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida to present Spain, My Love: Opera Meets Ballet, a celebration of Spanish heritage. The double bill opens with the world premiere of Juana Inés, a one-act opera about Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz- the leading intellectual of the Spanish Colonial period, as she seeks to reconcile her faith and her pursuit of knowledge. The opera, with libretto by Daniel Daroca and music by Venezuelan composer Federico Ruiz, is presented with the participation of Voices of Miami. The second part of the performance continues the celebration with Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida in two brilliant ballet choreographies: the nostalgic Tarde en la Siesta, with music by Lecuona, choreographed by Alberto Méndez, and the exuberant ballet Viva España, with music by Massenet, and choreography by Vladimir Issaev, Artistic Director of Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida.
