Samambaia Band for Ocean Drive Promenade Presented by Ocean Drive Association

Join us on Ocean Drive on October 6th for a performance from Samambaia as part of the Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series, a free, weekly concert series presented by the Ocean Drive Association. Pack a picnic blanket or lawn chair to stake out your seat on the lawn. Showtime is at 6:00 PM. Samambaia captures the essence of classic samba with an elegant and sophisticated twist. Fronted by the enchanting vocals of Rose Max, this ensemble features the elegance of the seven-string guitar, a masterful pandeiro player, an expressive percussive flutist, and a diverse array of Afro-Brazilian percussion. Their music not only embraces the traditional Samba Raiz but elevates it with a contemporary and polished flair that appeals to both purists and new audiences alike. Enhancing their already dynamic performances, Samambaia often collaborates with the high-energy Bateria Saideira of Miamibloco percussion collective and dancers. This partnership brings the exuberant sounds and rhythms of Carnaval directly to the audience, weaving the festive atmosphere of the streets of Rio de Janeiro with the refined ambience of upscale clubs. Samambaia is more than a musical act; they are cultural ambassadors who bring the heart and soul of Brazilian samba to every performance. Whether playing in intimate settings or on grand stages, they consistently deliver an experience that is both captivating and authentic, inviting listeners to dance and celebrate the vibrancy of Brazilian culture. These events (every Sunday!) are free and open to the public-- and will take place in Lummus Park between 14th Street and 14th Place. Bring your chair, blanket, and picnic - ENJOY! Rainy-day location is inside The Betsy Hotel! This program is part of the weekly Promenade Sunday Concert Series generously underwritten by The City of Miami Beach, The GMCVB and The Ocean Drive Association.
