Kaufman Concerto Premiere with Mesut Ozgen & Kameristika Presented by MIGF 2020

The 2020 Miami International GuitART Festival kicks off with the “KAUFMAN CONCERTO PREMIERE” concert at the FIU Wertheim Concert Hall. A new guitar concerto commissioned BY MIGF from the award-winning composer Fredrick Kaufman to be premiered by the Kameristika Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Javier Jose Mendoza, with virtuoso guitarist Mesut Özgen as soloist. The festival continues until February 23rd with daily concerts, masterclasses, lectures, and Luthiers Expo. More info and festival pass available at migf.fiu.edu

The winner of the 2019 Music Teachers National Association Young Artists Competition, the 2018-2019 season has been immensely successful for Dominic Muzzi, having also earned the gold medal and first prize in the 68th Wideman International Piano Concerto Competition. Polish pianist and Commemorative Medal Honoree of the Frederic Chopin University of Music, Lucas Krupinski also has twice been a laureate of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Prize for remarkable artistic accomplishments (2013, 2014), a recipient of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Scholarship (2015) and the Krystian Zimerman Foundation Scholarship (2015). Shesh Besh Ensemble Presented by Dave and Mary Alper JCC

The Arab-Jewish Ensemble under the auspices of Israel Philharmonic. Winner of the European Medal Of Honor-Prize for Tolerance. Musically, the ensemble reflects a multicultural context of Classical Western music, classical Eastern works,and original compositions. Celebrates that the language of music helps to build bridges between people. Appeared at Tanglewood Music festival and Carnegie Hall for JVC Festival hosted by Michael Feinstein.

Afro Roots Fest Presented by The Rhythm Foundation

The Afro Roots World Music festival focuses on celebrating the evolution of African culture in our community. Noted by many to be Miami’s longest-running World Music festival, the event has featured artists from various African countries such as Senegal, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Mali, and the Republic of Congo, as well as artists from the Caribbean and the Americas. The festival also features a variety of satellite events such as the "Let the Children Have Music and Dance" youth camp, the Kick-Off celebration, and a variety of panels and workshops.This global connection through music has helped the festival evolve into one of Miami’s most culturally-diverse events.
