Hot-headed d’Artagnan and his fearless sister Sabine set off for Paris in search of adventure. D’Artagnan hopes to join the King’s Musketeers. Sabine is bound for a convent school, but soon decides she’d rather fight by her brother’s side. With their new best friends Athos, Porthos, and Aramis by their sides, the siblings take on Cardinal Richelieu to save the day for king and country. Ken Ludwig’s (Lend Me a Tenor, Moon Over Buffalo) modern adaptation of Dumas’ novel delivers plenty of romance, wit, and swashbuckling action in this classic tale of loyalty, justice, and honor.

In 1999, a young Cuban refugee, Elián Gonzalez, was found on the shores of Florida clinging to life. We know the story ends with a boy in a closet, a gun pointed at him; but few of us know how it got to that moment. With the help of key players, new information has been uncovered that paints a more complete and accurate picture of how we got to that moment. The African American student living in Miami Dade County, Florida during the 1980's – 1990’s was faced with unique challenges in a period that experienced significant cultural, social, political, economic and technological changes that impacted their learning, careers and decision-making capacity. These experiences played a major role in their adulthood. Carol City experienced an influx of migrants primarily from the Caribbean, particularly Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Haiti, Santo Domingo and Cuba during the 1980’s. The assimilation with African Americans in middle and high school were at times turbulent and dynamic as relationships developed that resulted in shared cultural experiences and at times hostilities. The assimilation of these culturally difference norms and behaviors are rarely captured in the experiences of Africans in the diaspora. These relationships produced the development of a unique cultural artistic climate and social dynamics that is captured in the Three Act, six scenes play.

“The Opponent” written by Brett Neveu and directed by Lowell Williams looks at the hardscrabble world of boxing from the perspective of a small-time boxing gym owner, the seen-it-all-and-then-some Tremont “Tre” Billiford (Enrique Galan) and a young up-and-comer, the charismatic and fast-moving Donell Fuseles (Kedar Myers). The play explores difficult truths revealed as questions of loyalty, dreams deferred, and fractured losses that become unearthed. Tensions quickly rise between the two broken men as both accuse the other of causing the failures that define their lives while approaching the inevitable fight that will ultimately prove who truly is the champ.
