Join the Armour Dance Theater and New World School of the Arts in the joyous return of the Nutcracker Ballet. This full length production is an annual tradition and favorite for audience members from 2 to 102! With sweeping music by Tchaikovsky, rich costumes, grand scenery and a cast of 150, you will leave the theater humming and waltzing!

edric, a native of Miami, Fl. He is the inspiration behind Live in Color Dance Collective, a culturally diverse dance company. Through his jazzy, cutting edge, energetic footwork, arm throwing and high stepping style, Zedric Keith Bembry has brought flavor to the Hip Hop industry creating a new dance rave all his own, “Urban phunk”. For Zedric , movement is life. His strong dedication to the art of dance is parallel to his dedication to the communities he serves. Reflections on his teenage years propels him to spread the joy of dance to young people as a positive alternative to many of the ills that the streets offer. In 2010 he was chosen for front cover of The Greater Miami & The Beaches Visitors Guide. "You can't help but move when Miami is in your soul".

De Paso by Casa Patas Flamenco Foundation (Spain) Presented by FUNDarte Inc

FUNDarte and the Miami-Dade County Auditorium present De Paso, by Casa Patas Flamenco Foundation & Conservatory featuring Sara Pérez and Rubén Puertas on Saturday, November 6th at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 7th at 3:00 p.m. at Mid-Stage at Miami-Dade County Auditorium (2901 W Flagler St., Miami, FL 33135). Dancer and choreographer Sara Pérez makes her Miami premiere with a stunningly precise new work, De Paso (Along the Way), which reveals the choreographic virtuosity of this rising star in the realm of contemporary Flamenco. In a theatrical duet with firebrand dancer Rubén Puertas, De Paso employs the remarkable song, guitar, and percussion talents of four musicians as part of a dance work that uses the language of Flamenco to express the allure of the unknown, the fear of failure, and the joy of sharing life’s journey with others. Inspired by the verses of the popular Flamenco “cante” (song), De Paso is a performance that is about the road that we take on our journey through the world; it is about the points of encounter where different lives, temperaments, and feelings interrelate.

Daniel Lewis Dance Sampler Presented by Dance NOW Miami

Celebrating the tenacity and creativity of Florida's dancers and choreographers, the 11th annual Daniel Lewis Dance Sample will showcase a curated group of eight works, featuring some of the best Florida has to offer, with Culture Shock tickets for the Sunday Oct 31show at 4 pm at Miami's NWSA Dance Theater. Companies and choreographers are Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida, Ballet Flamenco la Rosa, Ballet Vero Beach, Maya Billig, Dance NOW! Miami, Karen Peterson and Dancers, New World Dance Ensemble, and Sandra Portal Andreu. The theater will be following federal, state and local public health regulations and guidance about COVID-19 with masking. The Sampler is presented by Miami Dance Futures and the Florida Dance Education Organization, in collaboration with New World School of the Arts, Duncan Theater Palm Beach State College, and Dance NOW! Additional shows for the general public on Friday, October 29 at 8 pm at Lake Worth's Duncan Theater, and Saturday October 30 at 8 pm and at New World.

Peter London Global Dance Company - Miami Beach Night Stars Presented by Rhythm Foundation and City of Miami Beach

This is a free event presented by the City of Miami Beach and The Rhythm Foundation Arts in The Park Series. Please RSVP to receive more communication on this event. A glittering evening of sizzling and fiery dancing by Peter London Global Dance Company dancers. The program features Peter London's Urban Serengeti, a colorful explosion of a jazzed-up contemporary Afro Caribbean explosion of movement and color in magnificent carnival costumes dance, to award-winning Jazz musician, composer, arranger and band leader Etienne Charles' Creole Soul. London's riveting solo, Mali Soul, danced by guest artist Leon Cobb (former soloist with PLGDC and dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company, the Jose Limon Dance Company and MOMIX) Aaron Lopez's mercurial solo performance of London's Roses for Women and Gentry Isaiah George's One Stolen Kiss, commissioned by PLGDC in 2015, and performed by Deja Darbonne, Rafael del Vizo and Aaron Lopez.

The charm of the Holidays fascinates all audiences as Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida presents the classic ballet "The Nutcracker" to Tchaikovsky's popular score based on the tale of Ernest Hoffman. The critically acclaimed performance is choreographed and directed by renowned Ballet Master Vladimir Issaev. This awarded professional company features their own ballet stars performing the principal roles, as well as a community cast made up of local character artists and children. The engaging choreography- from the fun of the party scene- to the harrowing battle scene- to the enchanting kingdom of the sweets- is guaranteed to entertain any age. The Nutcracker is not only the most popular ballet enjoyed by audiences around the world during this time of the year but it also serves as an introduction to ballet for young audiences.

Viva España Presented by Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida

The season opens featuring a new work: “UNBROKEN”, an original ballet performance choreographed by Ballet Master Vladimir Issaev which will bring to the stage the music of Édouard Lalo’s Namouna. This re-imagining of Lalo’s Romantic ballet serves as a testament to the timelessness of Classical ballet as well as its continuity during these challenging and changing times while introducing the audience to the future of Classical ballet. Additional repertoire includes “Viva España” with music by Massenet and Choreography by Issaev and other neo-classical and contemporary pieces TBA.

The Third Forward Motion Dance Festival Presented by Karen Peterson and Dancers

Returning after being canceled in 2020 when performing arts venues were shuttered, the Third Annual Forward Motion Physically Integrated Dance Festival & Conference showcases companies, dancers and choreographers who are inclusive of those with and without disabilities, exploring a new terrain of beauty, movement and performance. Produced by Florida’s own groundbreaking physically integrated dance pioneers, Karen Peterson and Dancers (KPD), this third event will truly mark the start of South Florida’s reopened performing arts season, and feature some of the best dancers and companies of any kind, in performance, in discussion and holding workshops. Performances include the Miami premieres of Dancing Wheels’ Company’s Pallas Athena, with choreography by Catherine Meredith, and Odyssey, with choreography by Marc Brew; the Miami premiere of Perky, Quirky, Smirky, from REVolutions Dance, with choreography by Christina Acosta; the Miami premiere of Remember When, a solo featuring Jesus Vidal de Leon, choreography by Marc Brew; and a new restaging of KPD’s Lost and Found, choreography by Karen Peterson, video by Dinorah de Jesus Rodriguez. “Garrido is a brilliant soloist with a vibrant company.” - Los Angeles Times SIUDY FLAMENCO BAILAORA - within me, within you by Siudy Garrido After a successful world premiere in Miami in 2019, Bailaora – within me, within you returns by popular demand! Bailaora – within me, within you traces the evolution of flamenco from a New World perspective. Award-winning choreographer and dancer Siudy Garrido is recognized for her contemporary work in flamenco. Her company has collaborated with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and flamenco stars Farruquito and Antonio Canales. The music in Bailaora pairs traditional flamenco instrumentation with synthesized sounds. The narrative takes an emotional journey through dance that results in a humanist and feminist commentary on self-invention and self-determination, revealing the vulnerability and inner strength of a warrior whose only voice is her art.
