Belly Dance Stories

Belly Dance Stories is a women's empowerment theater production directed by Alexandra Molina and Valerick Molinary. The purpose is to highlight and project the voices of their students, who are women from all walks of life, as well as the Oriental Dance community, through creative performances. Each dancer has harnessed the power of Oriental Dance, aka "Belly Dance," in unique ways as a tool to navigate through moments in their lives whether it be for personal healing, to mark important events, strength to get through daily obstacles, every-day physical well being or the pure and simple joy of dance, music and movement.

The professional division students have been working hard throughout the month of July, learning from the best teachers in the Vaganova Method and other disciplines. We invite you to come and watch the Summer Intensive Showcase. It includes performances of different styles of dance such as Character, Flamenco,Contemporary and excerpt from the ballet Le Conservatoire, Paquita, Le Corsaire, Harlequinade and more

Rise Above Concert Extravaganza Presented by DanceAfrica Miami

Rise Above Concert Extravaganza is a full-length concert presentation highlighting the Stilt Artistry of Black Immigrants. This engaging production incorporates aspects of folkloric and contemporary African masquerade, dance, music, storytelling poetry and song in a multi-media framework. The concert features the work of African and Caribbean Stilt masters, and both regional, national and international African and Caribbean drummers, dancers, folklorists and actors. The performance blends traditional and contemporary performing arts with innovative set, lighting, media, and both acoustic and recorded music. The Tall Spirit concert is a family friendly presentation for audiences of all ages that explores the sustained role of the stilt and drummer as wise protector, an example of communal resilience and bridge between new and old themes.

The International Ballet Festival of Miami, July 23 – August 14 /2022, has been a Summer Highlight event in South Florida, inviting renowned national and international ballet companies represented by their stars from: Europe, South America, Asia, Canada and the USA IBFM presents a Dance Marathon, a free outdoor performance showcasing the young talent and stars of tomorrow raised in our own City of Miami, in collaboration with Dancetown Miami, Dance Attack, Dance Empire, St Lucie Ballet, International Dance Academy, among others

Le Corsaire Suite Presented by Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami

CCBM invites you to the presentation of its spectacular Spring Gala Performance, "Le Corsaire Suite", Saturday, June 11 /8pm. at the Miami Dade County Auditorium, featuring Cuban Principal ballet stars, CCBM Corp de ballet, beautiful costumes and scenery. In this classic performance the CCBM will highlight excerpts from one of the most musical and visually exotic ballets of the 19th century. “Le Corsaire” is a tale of swashbucklers, Sultans, princesses, maidens and pirates, with a libretto based on the poem The Corsair by Lord Byron.

Grand Prix Gala 2022 Presented by Dance Open America

Dance Open America is delighted to announce that the Artistic Award 2022 for Excellence and Extraordinary Career will be presented to Ben Stevenson, Texas Ballet Theater's own artistic visionary and an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.), during the Grand Prix Gala on Wednesday, May 11th, 2022 at 8PM. This performance will include highlighted dancers from the competition and the presentation of, “Star Crossed”, by Ben Stevenson with its World Premiere having taken place on February 11, 2022. The audience will witness the love between two iconic characters in this simplified Romeo and Juliet story. Star Crossed is set to the Fantasy Overture from Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet score. Ben is one of the great storytellers of ballet and is known for creating splendor on stage. His choreography is both world-renowned and in high-demand across ballet companies world-wide. Dance Open America International Dance Competition is the new alternative that reveals a generation of talented dancers. The competition is a site to unite people from all cultures and ethnicities, and its mission is to allow dancers to become innovative artists with the motivation to reach their full potential.
