Join AileyCamp Miami as it celebrates its 17th anniversary with the culminating presentation, "Rhythms of Resilience," featuring ballet, jazz, modern, West African and spoken word performed by AileyCampers. AileyCamp Miami is a free, six-week, full-scholarship summer day-camp program for students ages 11 to 14 currently enrolled in a Miami-Dade County public middle school. Using dance as a vehicle for developing self-esteem, creative expression and imagination, AileyCamp Miami at the Adrienne Arsht Center is offered in partnership with the Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation.

FIREBIRD: A new production by Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida on Stravinsky's brilliant score, Firebird returns by popular demand. The ballet tells the tale of a magical firebird that helps a heroic prince rescue a beautiful princess from Katscheii, a sinister evil force. Stravinsky's masterpiece includes the Firebird's exuberant dance followed by variations based on Russian folksongs, the beautiful Round of the Princesses, Katschei's rhythmic dance, and a romantic lullaby. Fantastic costumes designed by Jorge Gallardo, new sets by Jim Hammond, and gorgeous backdrops by designer Elena Bondarenko, along with magical special effects, fulfill this wonderful production with choreography by Vladimir Issaev.

What is the best way for one of Florida’s premier contemporary dance companies to celebrate their 25th anniversary with resilience and panache? An exciting season finale of course, as Dance NOW Miami brings audiences their Program III, featuring the world premiere of “Terra Mia | My Land.” This deep dive into company Artistic Co-Director Diego Salterini’s Italian roots will be on stage Saturday, May 10, at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center, with additional repertory works, including an excerpt of “Bridges NOT Walls” and “Court Dance.”

The Celestial Dance of India: a Night of Odissi Classical Dance featuring Rudrakshya Foundation Odissi, a traditional dance from from Odiya, India is renowned as some of the finest in the world due to its unbroken connection to ancient spiritual art. For millenia dancers protrayed epic poems and stories in temples. In recent times, these temple arts have become available to the public mesmerizing and inspiring the masses. For this event, Rudrakshya Foundation are traveling to Miami specifically from India. They will perform scenes from the classic Indian poem Gita Govinda composed by Sri Jayadeva Goswami in the 1100s. Sacred Vedic Arts will also exhibit famed spiritual artist Srimati Syamarani Dasi's line drawings and paintings to further illustrate the tales told by the dance. Rudrakshya foundation is recognized in India and across the globe as one of the finest dance troupes of Indian classical dance. Hailing from the eastern coastal region of Odisha India, their lifetime of dedicated devotional storytelling and rigorous practice is woven into a beautiful tapestry of movement aimed as transforming and uplifting the hearts of the audience. Sacred Vedic Arts is a 501(c)3 nonprofit supporting the arts, education, and community service, operating completely on donations founded by visionary artist and master of bhakti yoga, Srimati Syamarani didi .
