A Magical Experience for the Whole Family! When Miami City Ballet staged its new production of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® in 2017, our audiences were delighted that a South Florida dance company could create a winter wonderland despite the lack of snow. Every season since, we have continued to capture the holiday spirit with this captivating display of Balanchine’s choreography performed by over 100 dancers against a background of spirited Tchaikovsky music, dazzling costumes, and glimmering sets. Leave the world behind, and treat yourself and your family to seeing the stunning Miami version of this classic piece, snowflakes and all! “Exquisite dancing, music, and costumes” – The Miami Herald Recommended for ages 4 and up. The season opens with a magnificent program featuring two works epitomizing the best of dance created over the past 100 years and a new work from Miami’s very own Jamar Roberts.

"Make Believe" is the second work in a trilogy from Rosie Herrera Dance Theatre using religious iconography as a way to explore themes of romance.

Kick your holiday season off right with this saucy contemporary dance interpretation of the Nutcracker. “Clara” charts the journey of a young woman, exploring and experiencing the unknown, in search of love, identity and self-determination. The evening will also include the Dance NOW! Classic “Chronicles” and “Introducing,” a world premiere contemporary ballet trio.

Dance NOW! Miami, the resident dance company of the Miami Beach Bandshell returns for its annual evening of dance under the autumn skies. The performance will feature a sneak preview of the season to come with excerpts from "Clara," DNM’s spicy interpretation of the holiday classic, “The Nutcracker,” and excerpts of “Gli Altri/The Others” the poignant social commentary fresh off the company’s tour to Italy.

The highly anticipated annual Daniel Lewis Dance Sampler returns for its 13th edition with performances on two Florida coasts, featuring 10 of the best of Florida’s companies and choreographers. From ballet to modern, contemporary to flamenco, the curated showcase includes Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida, Ballet Flamenco La Rosa, Ballet Vero Beach, Dance NOW! Miami, Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami, Omayra Amaya Flamenco Dance Company, Emily Ricca, Syncopate Collective, New World Dance Ensemble and the Zest Collective.

5 days of workshops in Capoeira, percussion, music, Afro Brazilian dance , Samba and Maculele as well as beach Tim, sharing and the magic that Miami is known for. Capoeira and Samba are art forms rich in culture, movement, rhythm, and song. The encounter is a annual event with workshops, learning and sharing that culminates in a community celebration with performances and a belt ceremony in which members of Sol e Lua Cultural Arts Center receive recognition for their training and efforts.

"Es la hora del Vermut" ("It's vermouth time") is an elegant expression and an excellent excuse to provoke a meeting, an inspiration, laughs and easiness, and an unparalleled "whet your appetite." There is no more sublime moment than tasting the bittersweetness of this elixir. Dalí, Oprah Winfrey, Frank Sinatra, or your grandfather knew it well. And there is right vermouth without its subsequent aperitif... Lighting stoves, turning off stress, apron on, tools prepared, ladle at hand... Let the ceremony begin!

Lo Preciso (which translates as "exactness" in English) is the newest contemporary Flamenco work by Spanish dancer and choreographer Rafael Ramírez. This intense solo dance work is accompanied by four musicians in a dueling quest for artistic precision. It is an ecstatic call-and-response delivery of the masculine prowess of the genre.

"Miedo come todo... Sueños al vuelo" is a performance that uses the language of contemporary dance in its search for dialogue with the little ones. A bet on living and tangible relationships, on visual stimuli that make the imagination fly, a half-told story with unrecognizable characters that each kid can finish shaping. A definitive invitation to say No! To fear and let dreams fly.
